Beginning August 1st through October 31st, all donations made to Parasites Without Borders (PWB) will be matched by the organization and donated to the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH), with a minimum pledged donation of $10,000 and a total gift of up to $20,000. A portion of these funds will sponsor Travel Awards for three qualified students, early-career investigators, and trainees in the tropical medicine field who are traveling from low- and lower-middle-income countries to attend the 2025 ASTMH Annual Meeting.<\/p>\n

“We continue to support the ASTMH Travel Award program because it aligns with the foundation of our organization – change through education,” explains Dr. Daniel Griffin, MD, PhD, CTropMed, CTH, co-founder of Parasites Without Borders. “Traveling internationally is a huge expense, especially for students and new professionals. But the educational opportunities available at a conference of this size are invaluable. The other PWB founders and I are honored to help facilitate that experience.”<\/p>\n

The ASTMH Annual Meeting brings together thousands of physicians, scientists, researchers, academics, and nonprofit organizations from around the world. This year’s meeting will take place on November 9th through November 13th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. For new students and trainees, attending the Annual Meeting can be a career-defining experience, introducing them to opportunities from around the globe. The PWB team is pleased to announce it will host a booth at the 2025 Annual Meeting.<\/p>\n
