These patients later showed development of persistent hypoxia with increased levels of d-dimer levels and were given a diagnosis of pulmonary embolisms.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nih.gov\/news-events\/news-releases\/nih-clinical-trial-shows-remdesivir-accelerates-recovery-advanced-covid-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Adaptive COVID-19 Treatment Trial \u201cACTT\u201d (NIAID)<\/strong><\/a>\n<p><em>RESULTS (N=1063)<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Primary Endpoint:\u00a0Median time to recovery was 11 days for patients treated with remdesivir compared with 15 days for those who received placebo (p&lt;0.001)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><em>Mortality rate of 8.0% for the group receiving remdesivir versus 11.6% for the placebo group (NS, p=0.059)<\/em><\/em>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gilead.com\/news-and-press\/press-room\/press-releases\/2020\/4\/gilead-announces-results-from-phase-3-trial-of-investigational-antiviral-remdesivir-in-patients-with-severe-covid-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>SIMPLE I Trial results (Gilead)<\/strong><\/a>\n<p><em>RESULTS (N~400)<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Similar improvement in clinical status for 5-day course vs 10-day course of treatment<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<em>No placebo control<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelancet.com\/action\/showPdf?pii=S0140-6736(20)31022-9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Remdesivir in Chinese adults with severe COVID-19<\/a>\n<p><\/strong><em>RESULTS (237 patients were enrolled and randomly assigned to a treatment group;
