Every quarter, Parasites Without Borders (PWB) hosts a fundraiser to support organizations that improve healthcare worldwide. From November 1, 2026, through the end of January 2027, PWB is fundraising for MicrobeTV, an independent podcast network that hosts shows on viruses, bacteria, parasites, evolution, immunology and neuroscience. Its goal is to make information about the life sciences accessible to all.
“We’ve enjoyed a longstanding and incredibly successful relationship with MicrobeTV,” says Dr. Daniel Griffin, MD, PhD, and co-founder and president of PWB. “We share the mission of bringing free, factual, science-based educational resources to everyone who needs them, from practicing clinicians to people who just want to know more about the life sciences. Podcasts are a wonderful way to reach past the classroom to a larger audience.”
MicrobeTV was founded in 2015 by Vincent Racaniello, PhD, a professor of Microbiology and Immunology at Columbia University. Dr. Griffin is co-host of the Infectious Disease Puscast, This Week in Parasitism (TWiP) and provides weekly clinical updates on This Week in Virology (TWiV).
MicrobeTV will host two live podcast recordings during this year’s American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH) Annual Conference, which runs Wednesday, Nov. 18, through Sunday, Nov. 22, 2026, at Gaylord National Harbor in Maryland, USA. On Friday, Nov. 20, on the Innovation Stage, Dr. Griffin will record his TWiV weekly clinical update from 2-3 p.m. He will then be joined by Dr. Vincent Racaniello and a special guest for a special live episode of TWiP from 3-4 p.m.
MicrobeTV currently hosts ten podcasts:

TWiV is hosted by Dr. Vincent Racaniello, Dr. Brianne Barker, Dr. Rich Condit, Dr. Alan Dove, Dr. Daniel Griffin, who provides a weekly clinical update, Dr. Angela R. Mingarelli, Dr. Jolene Ramsey and Dr. Kathy Spindler.
This Week in Evolution (TWiEVO)
TWiEVO breaks down the biology of what makes us tick. It is hosted by Dr. Nels Elde and Dr. Vincent Racaniello.
This Week in Microbiology (TWiM)
There’s an entire world we can’t see, and TWiM explores life on Earth that's unseen. It is hosted by Dr. Vincent Racaniello, Dr. Petra Levin, Dr. Michael G. Schmidt and Michele Swanson.
