Throughout the months of October and November, all donations made to Parasites Without Borders will be matched and DOUBLED by PWB and donated to MicrobeTV, an independent podcast network for people who are interested in the life sciences (viruses, microbes, parasites, evolution, urban agriculture, communication, and engineering), with a pledge up to $40,000 to MicrobeTV with a minimum donation of $10,000.
MicrobeTV was founded by Vincent Racaniello, a professor of Microbiology & Immunology at Columbia University. Vincent began his first podcast, This Week in Virology, in September 2008 together with Dickson Despommier, father of the Vertical Farm. Although Vincent viewed the creation of a science podcast as an experiment, he was surprised when people began to listen. Since then he has created five other podcasts, This Week in Parasitism, Immune, This Week in Evolution, This Week in Microbiology, and This Week in Neuroscience.
