Dr. Danial Griffin and Dr. Sara Dong leading the Puscast

Infectious Disease Puscast Aims To Make Critical Medical Information More Accessible

Finding the time to sit down and work through a medical journal to get the latest medical updates is a luxury many don’t have. Parasites Without Borders (PWB), a global nonprofit that brings the latest medical information on diseases caused by parasites to the people and places that need it most, recognizes the need for an easy and digestible way to share the most up-to-date literature on parasitic and infectious diseases. The Infectious Disease Puscast aims to be a trusted and accessible tool to help busy clinicians, researchers, students, and citizen scientists.

“As a practicing clinician, I understand that time can be precious,” explained Daniel Griffin, MD, PhD, Director of Parasites Without Borders. “There’s so much new information to wade through. On the podcast, we cull, condense, and demystify the latest Infectious Disease publications. The beauty of the podcast is that it can be listened to while people are commuting, cleaning, or sitting at a desk with notes. It’s a fun and easy way to stay current on the latest medical and scientific news.”

The Infectious Disease Puscast is co-hosted by Dr. Griffin and Sara Winn Dong, MD, and is produced by Vincent Racaniello, co-director of Parasites Without Borders, and founder of MicrobeTV. In each bi-monthly episode, the doctors review the latest infectious disease literature and discuss the newest and most relevant findings. With 46 episodes uploaded, they look forward to celebrating their 50th episode soon. Listeners can find the Infectious Disease Puscast at microbe.tv/puscast.
