Parasites Without Borders (PWB) is reaffirming its long-standing partnership with the American Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene (ASTMH) by providing a comprehensive sponsorship for the ASTMH Annual TropMed26 Meeting. TropMed26 will take place Wednesday, Nov. 18 through Sunday, Nov. 22, 2026, at Gaylord National Harbor, Maryland, USA.
“We have enjoyed an extremely productive partnership with ASTMH throughout the years,” says Daniel Griffin, MD, PhD, President of Parasites Without Borders. “We share strong scientific values, and their commitment to eliminating the devastating effects of tropical diseases aligns well with our mission. It’s an honor to play even a small part in helping to put on the world’s premier international forum for scientific minds working in tropical medicine, hygiene and global health.”
The ASTMH Annual Meeting brings together tropical medicine and global health professionals representing academia, foundations, government, not-for-profit organizations, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, military and private practice. The Annual Meeting is a five-day educational conference that includes four pre-meeting courses and draws approximately 4,900 attendees. 2026 marks the 75th ASTMH Annual Meeting.
This will be Parasites Without Borders’ fourth year attending as an exhibitor, providing attendees with interactive games, giveaways, clinical information, and, of course, copies of Despommier’s Parasitic Diseases, Eighth Edition. Come by and say hello at booth 507. PWB is once again recording a series of MicrobeTV podcasts live on the Innovation Stage in the Exhibit Hall, before an audience of conference attendees.
For the first time, Parasites Without Borders is sponsoring the President’s Reception, in honor of our colleague, Dickson Despommier. This invitation-only reception welcomes ASTMH leadership and current and future leaders in tropical medicine and global health. Parasites Without Borders is thrilled to attend the reception and looks forward to a special announcement at the event – stay tuned.
Parasites Without Borders is also continuing its support of the ASTMH Travel Award program through its current quarterly fundraiser. ASTMH Travel Award scholarships help cover travel costs for qualified students, early-career investigators and scientists working in tropical medicine. From Aug. 1 through Oct. 31, Parasites Without Borders (PWB) will match all donations and donate them to the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH), with a minimum pledged donation of $10,000 and a total gift of up to $20,000. Donations can be made through the Parasites Without Borders donation page.
Founded in 1903, ASTMH is the largest international scientific organization of experts dedicated to reducing the worldwide burden of tropical infectious diseases and improving global health. ASTMH accomplishes this through generating and sharing scientific evidence, informing health policies and practices, fostering career development, recognizing excellence and advocating for investment in tropical medicine/global health research. Specific goals include advancing research in tropical diseases, fostering international scientific collaboration, promoting science-based policy on tropical medicine/global health and more.
The PWB team is looking forward to TropMed26, which will take place Wednesday, Nov. 18 through Sunday, Nov. 22, 2026, at Gaylord National Harbor, Maryland, USA. Will we see you there?
