Global health nonprofit is proud to support the 2022 American Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene conference at the Seattle Convention Center, October 30th through November 3rd
NEW YORK CITY, New York (October 28, 2022) – For the first time in three years, the American Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene (ASTMH) will be holding their Annual Meeting in-person. Thousands of doctors, scientists, researchers, members of academia, nonprofit organizations, and more will gather at the Seattle Convention Center in Seattle, Washington, Sunday, October 30th through Wednesday, November 3rd, for the 71st ASTMH conference. The five-day event is made possible with the help of sponsors such as Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Gilead Sciences, Center For Compassionate Leadership, and Parasites Without Borders.
“For the past three years, we have held annual fundraisers to raise money for ASTMH’s Travel Awards, which are offered to qualified students, early career investigators, and scientists from low and low-middle income countries actively working in the tropical medicine field to attend the Society’s Annual Meeting,” explained Dr. Daniel Griffin, MD, PhD, CTropMed, CTH, President of Parasites Without Borders. “This year, we raised $40,000 to support the 71st ASTMH Annual Meeting and we are thrilled with our ability to help this amazing cause.”
Parasites Without Borders will also be sponsoring a booth at the upcoming conference. You can find members of the organization such as Daniel Griffin, MD, PhD, Dickson D. Despommier, PhD, Charles A. Knirsch, MD, MPH, and Vincent Racaniello, PhD at Booth #101 to sign free copies of the Seventh Edition of Parasitic Diseases. There will also be giveaways and an interactive game asking participants to identify certain parasites as well as live recordings of the cult favorite podcasts, This Week in Virology (TWiV) and This Week in Parasitism (TWiP), in the conference lobby on Wednesday, November 2nd.
